On Q Artistic Director, Quentin Talley and Resident Costume Designer, dupp&swat present FRESH! With DJ JAMAD on March 2 from 11:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. at the dupp& swat studio minutes from Uptown Charlotte in NoDa (2424 N. Davidson St. Suite 112B).

During the last night of the 2013 CIAA Tournament, the On Q crew is bringing you a party that is simply, FRESH! In the intimate setting of the artistic, multicultural hangout  dupp&swat studio in NoDa, DJ JAMAD will spin the night away, mixing classic and modern R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, funk, techno and ambient sounds. Blending old with new is what DJ Jamad does best and sets him apart, especially with his creative ideology, persistence in finding new and exceptional artists, and dedication to creating a sound that has longevity. DJ Jamad does all of this— and without compromise.

Since 2000, DJ Jamad's Afromentals "mixtape" series has become a cult classic attracting masses of loyal listeners who are seeking an alternative to mainstream Hip Hop, R&B and Pop. Only in DJ Jamad's mixes can you hear the likes of Slum Village, Loose Ends, Jill Scott, Prince, Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Schoolz of Thought, Marvin Gaye, Steely Dan, Journey, Train, Beyoncé, CeeLo Green, Lady Gaga, Adele and others, all transitioned and weaved together masterfully.

For the last 11 years DJ Jamad has performed at some of the most popular events and venues in Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, and D.C. Over a four-year time span, DJ Jamad produced 236 episodes of the "Afromentals Mixshow," a long-standing weekly radio show which aired on Sirius Satellite Radio's Hip Hop Nation. DJ Jamad was also a featured guest DJ on BBC Radio's 1xtra while touring Europe.
